Experiencing the gratitude to write

So what have you been doing? I know. A lot of everything and a lot of (at times) nothing. Experiencing the vicissitudes of life? Sometimes life can take us on a lot of twists and turns, to places and situations, sometimes good, sometimes bad. After all, we’re only human, right? But, you’re here right now, ‘THE NOW’ is this moment. You could have been anywhere else, but you tuned in. The DPL is happy you’re here.

.Gratitude is the best attitude. It is one of the requirements at the DPL. That is not to say it is always easy , to live in the moment, to be humble, but we do our best .We are public servants.When we have gratitude, we find that we can be more patient, more loving, humble and kind. You might be wondering what does having gratitude have to do with writing. Well, having gratitude opens a whole new world of possibilities, Everything we see, touch, hear and feel becomes so much more, MAGNIFIED!

We believe that is why not only writers, poets, but  people no matter what walk of life can become stagnated and stuck from time to time. If we forget about gratitude we can become empty vessels. That’s when we need to go back to the fountain of thankfulness, fill back up and move ahead. No matter how successful or experienced, we still need to practice humility.

 

Writing can sometime come with a price: love,anger, hurt, pain, joy, indifference , a whole spectrum of emotions. Sometimes all flooding in at once like light through a prism, leaving us with a kaleidoscope of colors to choose. Those colors are our experiences. No one color is better than the other.

So go for it paint. Write down a paragraph about anything. Let your thoughts flow. Make sure you are aware of your breathing while writing. This will keep you focused and relaxed enough to be fluid. Don’t worry. You can’t make any mistakes. This is yours, your creation; no one can take it away from you. So go ahead write. We’ll wait for you. There is no time limit….

Okay. Good work. Now read it back. Hear your voice? READ it silently, ALOUD, you can even SING it if you want to. It yours. Your voice. Your words. TRUST! BELIEVE! RA! RA! RA! GO! GO! GO! You have your own cheerleaders here. We believe in  you. As a matter of fact, we believe in you so much; you will stop believing in you before we do. So don’t GIVE UP!
